I first saw this type of bag on the rear of a R1200GSA at the ORS in Wales on an instructor bike. He had his gloves, waterproofs and a pack lunch / food in it and it fastens on the rear rack in place of the Aluminium Top Box.
When I got home I bought one and its been my go to bag when the aluminium top box was a bit of an overkill. It also has a slightly curved bottom so sits perfectly on the rear seat to and is extendable to twice its size via the zip. This bag from BMW new was approximately £180 so a quality bit of kit.
Its a great bag but now surplus to requirements.
