BMW Panniers

No. But there is a crowd in Germany IIRC that do rails to put the 1200 panniers on an 800.

Was looking at the BMW pannier frames for the 800GS and 1200GS (I work part time at vines) and the exhaust side is different so looks like they are different.

I was hoping to have a look at some of the panniers that we have in stock but was a little busy today.

Do you have some 1200GS ones your are trying to fit to an 800?

Just to add to the earlier comment on the 800...not only is the left pannier different because of the cutout for the exhaust, but the mounting brackets and frame are also shaped to fit around the exhaust.

No want a set for an 800 and was hoping I could get a cheap set of 1200 ones.

I see, well you do get a set coming up now and again on here. If not maybe see what other brand if panniers are in your budget?

Depends when you need them by! Good luck, could always put an items wanted post?

The right hand side pannier might be the same for the F800GS and the R1200GS. The left hand side (exhaust side) is definitely not the same. The R1200GS aluminium pannier has got a little "ledge" whereas the F800GS pannier is slightly wedge-shaped. The aluminium topbox for F800GS and R1200GS is definitely the same. Mounting hardware is obviously different. Locks are the same.

For future reference, like. :thumb2

Totally totally different :blagblah

Different shape, different fastening :blagblah

:beerjug:

You only have to look at the securing lock, pannier to frame ... at the front on one, at the rear rear on t'other ;)

One slides in rearwards, one forwards ;)

And just in case Micky's post wasn't clear enough, BOTH SIDES are completely different - neither the left nor the right R1200GS alloy pannier will fit either the right or the left side of the F800GS alloy pannier frame. :D

I kept hold of my 1200 boxes when I got my 800
And guess what they are totally different :blast
The only consolation is the lid's are the same

Holan do a frame

Holan based in Poland? look like they do a frame to allow 1200gsa boxes to fit a 800gs.
I think they are stainless powder coated black and 240 euros (aprox £206)
Hope this is useful:flag

You could do this, but the width across those panniers will be a few inches more than the width across the F800GS's own alloy panniers. And that's bad enough...
