Does anyone know or can suggest a paint that you can use for touching up the red lining inside a R75/7 tank et al?
One that is ethanol proof etc.
looks like the same stuff that is used to paint the inside of Jerry Cans

Hi Tony,

No idea where to get the original red paint used on the inside of BMW petrol tanks but this could be an alternative solution..

I’m stumped as to how you could touch it up,
Any new paint wouldn’t adhere to the old very well and would just add to the debris in the tank as the old paint deteriorates,
We generally steam clean the tank if it’s not going to be repainted to remove as much as possible,
New strainers and inline filters to stop shiite getting to the carbs.
Chemical dip if it’s being repainted,
Then give advice on winter storage etc if the bike is not used regularly.
Kept topped up and regular use will prevent internal rust,
Drain down and a bit of gear oil or rust inhibitor. If long term storage is likely.
