I wonder how many of you read 'Real Classic', to my mind one of the best magazines of it's kind and available only on subscription. The lastest issue contains an excellent article on th R90S which belongs to BMW enthusiast Andrew Shortridge. Some years ago he rode his R80GS From the UK to Australia and regrets selling it when he returned home stoney broke. He wonders if G635VYF is still around, and can be contacted via Real Classic on [email protected] Thanks.

Andrew is on this site :)
Got a lovely collection of Bikes :)
Including a Beautiful Basic, which he got from Germany :)

He'd love to find his original Basic tho' :)

Andy lives in DEVON, would be a good name for a forum......:D

Thank's for the post Paul. I am glad you enjoyed my R90S effort in Real Classic, it was more difficult to do then I imagined it would be. My article must have been OK as the magazine have asked me to do a bit about restoring my Triumph twenty one next :)

When I got home from Australia, I sold my R80GS; G635 VYF for a pittance to a gent who fancied riding it home from the UK to South Africa and have never heard of the bike since :( But....................I have the next best thing :D ........... a gent I have got to know on the forum who prefers to remain anonymous, sold me a bike he had restored to as new condition.

I will never sell this bike. The motorcycling gods and bank manager and SWMBO willing, I will ride it from Alaska to south America as a 60th birthday present to me in 7 yrs time :rob

This is G635 VYF

And this is the R80GS that replaces G635 VYF. Probably one of the nicest Paralevers in the UK
