BMW R80GS Hand Guard alternative

I would like to know if anyone has fitted BMW R1150GS or similar hand guards to an aircooled 80/100.
The touratech guards and acerbis are stronger than the 'paper' ones that come on the airheads as standard, but they don't have much in the way of weather protection.
I don't wanna pay BMW prices for the hand guards to find that they won't fit even with the best of bodging.
Any help/advice would be much appriciated.

Purchase two bottles of water, I find the M&S ones have more style, empty out the water or even drink it. Cut in half and stick to handlebars with some gaffer tape. Really look good on a motorcycle, cheap as chips.
By the way don't buy the green water bottles they look naff, but they are also cheap

I have the Touratech badged Acerbis handguards with the spoilers fitted and I believe they offer almost as much weather protection than the 1150GS ones, the 1150's ones only improve things underneath as they cup more but the Acerbis spoilers deflect more weather on top of the bars.

Go for Acerbis

Same as this 170196683262(ebay no) with the ali running through the back. But you will need the bar end kit for Steel bars, not ali which is available with the Spoiler extensions from Acerbis dealers just flick through Ebay. touratack just cost to much...



I used UFO bush guards, same thing, but no spoilers Available. New 30 quid of fleebay
