bmw socket

Just wondering where is the best place to fit a bmw socket to power a heated waistcoat

Did you have to drill or cut the "dash" to put it there?
Or does it just stick on ?
Also, does the power socket connect directly to the battery terminals?

Yes, you need to drill a hole!The socket fastens with a nut on the back and you need room for the cables and conectors.Mine is wired directly to the battery with an inline fuse.You could connect to an ignition controlled feed,it depends on how you want to use the socket.
