i am considering the new sportintegral helmet it is supposed to be an improvement on the old model it is comfortable with good periferal vision and supposed to be as quiet as the old model does anyone have experiance of the old helmet for a rough comparision

i use an old si and find it to be super quiet compared to other makes i've owned. however there a are a few downsides, because of the double curveature of the visor, inserts will not fit....not proporly anyway. also i find the venting not as good as it could be. would i buy another... YES deninatly, incedentaly i;ve never brought the same helmet twice. i would like to try a schuberth for a comparrison but on price alone the si wins hands down. its an exelent helmet try one on.

tryed the new model at coopers last friday visor has a anti-mist insert, chin vent,two head vents is this an improvement on the old model?

I have one with a single head vent and while it is the quietest helmet I have ever owned the visor mists worse than any other helmet I've known. And that is in our mild winters here in Aus! I'd hate to wear one in a real winter. Still, I do like it a lot.

+1 on the misting. You do need a fog city etc and then below 30 mph there's still misting on damp days. Glad 95% of my commute is on motorways.

When the sun is shining and on the 650 the vents work well to keep the air fresh inside the helmet. On balance I'm looking at another helmet for the commute when this ones not up to it / it gets wet more often than not.
