BMW Streetguard or Tourguard?

Hi all,
I'm about to buy a BMW Streetguard or Tourguard. My current HG Rallye Turaeg Jacket is very good but it gets dirty very quickly (I wash it and after 1 week it's again very dirty-especially the white/beige fabric-, I always ride my GS, no car) + I look like a stormtrooper wearing it, I don't mind that, but I like something more discreet when going to clients/meetings ;)

After considering Rukka, Kushitani and BMW (only brands with Armacor jackets) my eye has fallen on the street-/tourguard.
I really want Armacor because of the fact it absorbs almost no water(I ride all year and I prefer the jacket not to get soaked, like my current HG Rallye jacket) and is the safest textile around. And the BMW-jackets are almost 'normal' jackets so I can keep them on when going somewhere (on meetings fe).

I was wondering if anybody has a Streetguard in white/grey/blue and if this doesn't get dirty quick? Also, because of this I'm thinking of buying the black version...

Also on the forums I visited some people seem to have a Streetguard, but I haven't found anybody who owns a Tourguard.
The Tourguard has a back(spine-protector), is a bit longer and has waterproof ventilation under the arms.
Are these extra features worth the extra 100 euro(over the Streetguard)?

So if you have any experiences (good or bad) about the Street- or Tourguard please let me know. Because I would like as much info as possible before I pay a lot of euro's for it....

As always your input is greatly appreciated.

Tourguard....

Hi

I've had the all black Tourguard jacket & matching trousers for about 18 months now.....can't fault it in any way.

In Norway's autumn wind & rain last year it performed superbly and is reasonably light & very comfortable to wear...

Zip out thermal liner is great also & I chose the Tourguard over the Streetguard because of the more generous cut, larger pockets, back protection etc......

A first class bit of kit....:)

I've got a blue Tourguard jacket which seems waterproof enough, does show the dirt a bit though, much more than my black non-Armacor Rukka, and is warm and quite light.

Very comfy, and does not look so much like bike kit that it looks daft when worn away from the bike. My only gripe is that the standard armour is not very impressive when compared to the admittedly heavy Rukka rubber armour. I've replaced the elbow protectors with T-Pro stuff, and will probably do the same for the shoulder stuff.

Expensive but nice, and unlike the Rukka kit, available in a wide range of sizes. Make sure you order the right size, as BMW do not take kit back from their dealers, no matter what consumer legislation might have to day!

I'm going for the all black Tourguard.
Went to the dealer today but they didn't have any sizes that fitted me, so ordered a size without any obligation to buy it.

Just came back from a 1 hour ride in the pouring rain with my HG Tuareg Rallye, I was dry not a drop came through, but the outer "waterproof" pocket was leaking a little bit , the jacket weighs a ton due to the soaked water and it looks incredible filthy.
So where is that Tourguard, now? :D

I got the all black Tourguard, ordered yesterday, picked up today (fast BMW service :D ).

I must admit this is really a first class piece of kit, it's money more then worth (749 euro). It's great and handy details all over teh jacket and the finish is far superior over the HG Tuareg Rally jacket.

Maybe I'm converted to the BMW-side?:D
I always found BMW-clothing too expensive, but now high quality has a high price, and I don't mind, especially because I ride all year. So yes I'm a happy little camper now :D

BTW My HG Tuareg jacket which was soaking wet yesterday evening, wasn't even completely dry after I left it drying for 13 hours overnight !!! I hope the Tourguard dries quicker :)

Thanks for all your valuable advice
much obliged
