BMW tank bag

Bought the new tank at for my GSA TE , but have found a bit of a dangerous flaw!

Riding along on a hot day last week the clear plastic top was reflecting the sun into my eyes, getting a shimmy on the bag with wind and road bumps, I had a black visor on but it was still quite bad and blinding at points!! With a clear visor on a bend and sudden loss of sight could be dangerous!
I put a something in the top section so it wasn't flat and that helped, but still got glare off it!

Now I've had plenty of tank bags with clear tops and none have done this? Wondering if it's what it's made of as its suppose to be touch sensitive for iPads/ phones?
Anyone else had this??

Had exactly the same issue. Had to put a tennis ball under the cover just to stop it 'flashing' in the sun. very annoying. but when it rained, which was biblical on last trip, it was totally waterproof. I have looked at making a cover for it, but not much success yet on that.

BMW should make a dark cover for it I think, my dealer was going to speak to them , must be more with same issue

If somethings in the top bit it isn't as bad, got sat nav so don't need to put a map in! Don't need to see in!!

Yes, this is a problem, I have had it on a few sunny days in spain, really annoying.
I end up riding along one-handed with my left hand on top of the tank bag to reduce the reflections ... not ideal and lucky I have gear shift assist...

I have some neoprene covers for various bits of dive kit, which would probably work for covering a tank bag...

These guys at Scapa Scuba will do custom made covers if you let them have the dimensions. They have made covers for my torches, video lights, camera lens etc
Black neoprene has a matt finish.

Yep same problem, sun reflects off the top of the tank bag and inside of screen making the already difficult to see clocks totally unreadable

Got my dealer speaking to BMW - puma report I think he called it, when they have an issue they don't know how to fix!!

Which BMW bag is it as I was going to get one for mine but you've put me off now. Might have to stick with the GIVI tanklock.
