I just bought my 1200GS last week from Vines in Guildford (excellent dealer by the way!). It's a o6 model with a brand new tyre.
Now, in the tool bag I find a puncture repair kit (that explains the new tyre) containing 4x gas bottles, 1x knife/blade and 1x some sort of glue. But there are no instructions for using these items.
I've searched the forum and the web but cannot find instructions to use these items if I ever needed to.

Can anyone please describe what you have to do incase of a puncture with this kit?

Wow! That was a super fast reply! Thanks Tim! :thumb

I see from the illustration that I am missing some components of the kit... just have to spend some more cash...:tears

You don't have to buy the BMW version as a replacement if you are missing bits, those canister based repair kits with the 'glue' and the prong/file/applicator tool are available from a lot of accessory places.

Top tip: Do NOT apply any sideways, twisting or turning force on the insertion/reamer tool when first inserting it to ream the hole until the tool is all the way home in the hole and down to the reaming knurl. It is mentioned in section 6 of the illustration above, but not emphasized much.

I tried to twist the tool into the hole left by the nail as it was a very tight fit, and snapped off the eye of the needle part of the insertion tool tip, rendering it useless. :blast

Its only made of a brittle carbon steel and snaps off easily.

Also, you can buy replacement CO2 tubes in homebrew shops, specialist cycle stores (used on mountainbikes) and in bulk off eBay to name a few. The kit has enough patches for a few tyre repairs but the 3 gas cylinders only give about 10 psi.

Is it just me?

Maybe I need to stop watching Eurotrash so much...
