I'm from Yorkshire so cheaper is better.
I can understand how the power plug tweaks the map to suit conditions using the 2 sensors and a variable resistor, (assuming the graph profile is accurate).
This chip must just use a modified map similar to the original but just richer across the spectrum?

Couple of rules of thumb:

If you want to target "surging" or similar problems - work through all the tune up advice you will find on here first.

If you are looking to improve performance - sorry
