The usual sense from FortNine, this mirrors my experience (fortunately without the broken foot). My TCX drifters are lovely comfy boots, but I don't wear them on unpaved stuff now. I did drop my Tiger on my Tech 7's a couple of years ago and ended up with just a sore bruised shin.

Just watched this video. I'll stick with my Sidi Adventure 2 for now but definitely a good video for those looking for that style of footwear!

If only there was a sturdy boot that isn’t a lead weight. I’ve gone for Gaerne trial boots...I know their limitation.

My Liatt 5.5’s definitely feel in a completely different league regards protection to my Sidi Adventures but its all about compromise.

Wouldn’t want to trust the Sidi’s if I know I’m going to try things above my skill level
Wouldn’t want to ride round Europe in the Liatt’s if there’s loads of road miles to cover. (Indeed any walking)

As an aside, if anyone has a pair of worn out old sidi adventure boots that they are about to throw out I’m after the clips and straps that can be unbolted as I broke two of mine recently and I’m looking for replacements.

Wasn’t it Heinz Guderain (Germany’s blitzkrieg panzer leader) who famously observed that man had been fighting man for five thousand years, yet nobody had yet invented boots for soldiers that actually worked.
