BOS exhaust systems for the 1150 & 1200

Boz has one fitted to his R1200GS on which he's just about to perform an extensive tour of the Americas. So we should be able to see how it performs in the real world.

Big Andy also had on fitted to his 1200 before he sold it.

I had one fitted to my 12 at the 600ml service. It looks good, weighs much less than standard (I've the full system not just the end can) and apparently gives a healthy power boost.
BUT; the truth of the matter is I always thought my 1100 sounded like a sewing machine, so when I splashed out on a new bike I treated myself to the system. With the sound deadening baffel in it sounds really good (If the sound of your bike isn't important then you are reading the wrong thread!).And with the baffel out it sounds like a Lancaster bomber, fantastic!
(Err, that was a fib because I don't really know what a Lancaster bomber sounds like, but you get the picture).

I have picked up my Boss can today and will stuff it on (fit) the bike on Saturday, does look good and very well made.

did you fit the Boss can? and do you notice much difference? noise, power delivery and the such. saw a full Boss system on a red R1200GS parked up in Chester, looked great and smaller than the stock can too.

Yes fitted without any problems, just slips on, very nice sound to it no louder than the standard can but better. The can is a lot smaller in size and it's weight is about 1/2 that of the standard unit, it does not have a heat guard on the joiner pipe so i do some times get my heel on it. The end bit ( the outlet) is also diss-colouring a bit but the body of the can is still ok. I think it is a little smoother and nolonger pops back on the overrun. All in all i am very happy with it so far, and with my duff left leg i notice the weight saving when getting off the side stand. Oh! yes you can remove the baffle if you wish but the small bolt is welded so has to be ground a little first but thats for another day.
