Just lose fitted me new Stainless Bos Exhaust System all fits ok, not like the last 3 Remus systems [1150/1200GS] that ends up with a lot of tension on can mounting. Will tighten up tomorrow and see what its like, also the finish is very good.

Good timing Mitch as I was about to ask if anyone had experience of the BOS system. Have you fitted the entire system with headers? Would also be interested if you notice any extra wooomf and if the engine runs cleanly/smoothly. Some people have reported that the engine seems to run very lean with the Remus can.

Cheers

Thanks Andres. I guess that you're still happy with it? Have you noticed any glitches in fuelling/engine performance with the BOS and do you run in lower noise mode? The reason I ask is that I'm quite taken with the stealth mode of the 1200GS. I also run an Aprilia Falco with Aprilia's RSC carbon racing cans, which sounds glorious to me but sets off car alarms and terrifies dozy drivers when I overtake :D . One antisocially noisy bike is enough!

I know exactly where you are coming from, my previous bike was a tuned CCM with straight through exhaust and absolutley no pretence at silencing - real car alarm setteroffer :D

Must be an age thang 'cos I too like the 'stealth' mode aspect of the GS. The BOS system is a bit louder but defo. not anoyingly so and If you want to be real quiet (similar to stock) you can ride around it IYSWIM. It's at it's noiseiest if you 'crack' open the throttle at the lights (sounds gorgeous) or right at the top of the rev range if you are really nailing it.
And, yes, I run it with the noise restrictor in place. I tried it with it out but TBH honest it didn't improve the performance. It did sound nice but was too loud for me (god I must be getting old :( )

There are NO fueling glitches with the pipe, in fact the opposite. It pulls cleaner from take off and the dip around 4.5 - 5000 revs has all but gone. It really has transformed the engine beyond my expectations.

I next want to shorten the inlet trumpet and fit a K&N filter but will defo. get that sorted on a dyno due to potential lean running.

One day, sooner rather than later, when I give myself a kick up the @rse I'll be getting it dyno'd

Just what I hoped to hear Andres. Now I know what to ask from Father Christmas this year :) . Thanks for all the info.

First Ride

First ride with Bos system fitted, did 90 miles today bike feels a lot smother, 4500rpm Flat spot a lot better still not perfect seems to pull better roads a bit slippy to try too hard.
The most notable thing was slow running 5th gear 40mph no snatching ok you won’t pull Away very fast but it did still pull ok. You could stay in 3rd gear when a lot of the time you change down to 2nd to keep it smother much better on wet roundabouts.
Not as loud as a Remus Revolution so ok on long runs, took my Revolution off my 1150 too loud on long runs.
Not tried it without baffle yet, overall very pleased with it the fit was excellent, finish very good a quality bit of kit 9/10 always room for improvement.

OK - I'm hooked, although the can looks a bit long - so where do you get them for the keenest price?

Mitch - noise levels - how does it compare to the stock can? Is it compatible with the BWM Panniers?

Nadeem

Noise level when you crack it open yes quite a bit higher nice sound, motorway
not really any different [ear plugs fitted]. Standard side box fits ok 2inches
clearence alround.

Bos Standard
20ins L 18 top of shiney bit
4.5 W 5.25
5.5 H 7

End of can 3.5ins in front to the side of No plate

Size try again

Bos 20ins long std 18ins top of shiney bit
Bos 4.5ins wide std 5.25 wide
Bos 5.5ins high std 7ins high

Another convert to 'The BOS way' :thumb

You wait 'till the frost has gone and you can nail that throttle and experiance the top end rush - it'll be 10/10 then :D :D :D
