I'm selling my (beloved) pair of B&W 685 S1.
I bought these new from Superfi in Camden Town many a years ago, and got a set of off-brand stands from them as well.

These served me more than right over the years. Love the sound, and have been undisturbed until a few months ago, when a child decided to inspect one of the tweeter domes with their fingers.

Following advice in here I managed to pop the dome back into position. There is no audible difference (at least for >40 years old ears) now that the dome is back into its shape, but there are some scuffing marks on it. See picture.

What happened is that I started scouring eBay for potential replacement tweeters and ended up buying a pair of 684 S2 instead (I always wanted to replace the speakers with towers). As you do.

Sadly the 685 have to go. Hopefully to a loving home :)
Stands are on spikes.
I have the front grilles (never used them) and the foam bungs, not in the pics as I have to retrieve them from storage space upstairs.
I reinstalled the original bars at the back.
Apart from the tweeter dome scarring, these are in near perfect conditions. I live in a small place, so these have never been abused volume-wise.
They just need some proper dusting, and my cleaning lady clearly has to be fired.

I cannot ship them. Pickup from NW London, but I can put all in the car and meet up to Brent Cross or M1 services a bit up the road.

200 quid including stands.
On eBay towards end of the week.

If I lived MUCH closer, I'd come and collect. I've got a pair of 40 year old B&W DM100 speakers in my study. And an even older pair of Wharfedale E20s in my lounge.

Still have these up for sale (I dusted them off :D ). Been busy and they've been sitting on a shelf at home for a while without listing the ad around.
Lowered price: 160, pick-up from NW London.

Good value at that. I have a pair of B&W DM601 s2. Some years ago a small child pushed the dome tweeter on one of mine, but completely messed it up. I rang B&W and they were able to sell me a replacement tweeter. This was easy to replace (after removing the bass unit) as it was connected to the crossover with push connectors. Very easy job.

Handy tip,

Superglue and a length of cotton to fix squashed domes. Dry for 24hours, gently pull the dome back out then cut off the cotton 👍

The dome is fixed.
Apart from a little scarring the speaker sounds like new ;)
I used tape and patience.
