My Norton commando had them on, nice to see the Germans with their finger on the pulse again:D

Yeah, and they probably won't fall to pieces, rattle, leak oil and go bankrupt several times....

They've been around in one form of another in the customising world for about 30 yrs - called 'dogbones'.

Harley used them on springer forks in the '40's

i suppose they look a bit more modern though

Wunderlich have just come up with something similar, they say you don't need new cables....

Renthal

While on the subject of bars any :ukgser Know of any problems with fitting Renthal bars ? Please... Dog

Here is what i think of this

I re post this from a posting on ADVrider
Said Ricardo Kuhn:
Yeah I see them,,I think is a cool design in the sence of how simple it is,and the low requirement for production cost.

I have two issues,,,to have real usefull adjustments, the bars need to move Up and Back,,not Back and down like this ones do

This are some of my studies ,but i never got to figure a proper way to do it,,at least a "economical" way

Problem number two with the Added leverage of the clamp plus the bars,,the forces will move the bars like a "kite" if you push on them

I made this drawing about 5 years ago and I think is a better way to do it,,much more secure at least, but i ditch it for the same reason i don't like the Verholen(Boxer) design,,the bar will move in a unproper Arch(not to usefull...Radial,as oppose to concave),sincerlly I don't really know how those guys pass the "Strict TUV standards" if they did not pass kindergarden fisics...(sorry for the abruptnest but think about it,,the thing will move down the minute you put presure on it

I trully belive you need at least two Pivot points (to triangulate) if not more, plus the bars to be affective need to move in a "ARC" aka a Concave shape,,not a "Radial" one base on the bars povit,,the Verholen is just to simplistic of a solution

Here is a Dream mount,,fully adjustable on every axis,,ugly as a san bernard's brandy container,,expensive as a satelite,,but extremlly adjustable,,but again I don't know if that is a good idea, look on the mess the guys get into when you give them a shock with multiple adjustements,,or "If you are not a Musician stay away from the equalizer" or ricky and a camara,,man the more Automatic the better because I suck at taking pictures.

somewere on ADVrider is a whole tread that i did about a year ago but I was unable to find it...

Said Ricardo Kuhn:
I don't know if this really matters, but belive me If a better way to make the clamps was discovery(possible, practical, reliable) I be making them that way..

I spend many hours thinking about this,,please don't think I'm a egocentric magalomaniac, but since I don't have any body else to play around I need to talk in first Person all the time,I admire good design,I don't have a problem with that at all,in fact inspire me when somebody comes out with a better way to do something,,actually that is the basis of the whole design game,Brain agains a Brain,,,and I love it:ricky.

since that is my filosofhy I don't care showing were I being so other can take advantage of it,and don't make the same mistakes that i did,,call me crazy,,yes I'm at least in someways more than others.

this are just attemps to find a solid solution what will work as a well as a None adjustable sistem,,no compromises,no relaying on high torques, high friction,,stuff wears out,,tolerences chance,,on a handlebar that is totallly unaceptable, you life is on the line
279084-M-2.jpg

well you get the idea,,exentric, solid mount,,No :GS:GS:GS:GSing "Friction" wishes...No WAY

Basically At least in my VIEW I think they area Halfass Gimmick, that looks like it does the job but bring structural ,posture and durability problems as oppose to real solutions.

sorry if i sound to critical but I think about this things all day long

here are a few comments from ADVrider
