Any of you sitting on a photo archive of Bracken prepared desert racing BMWs?

Have found nothing on the web. I guess that at the time the guys with these bikes were more focused on riding rather than forum photo-threads.

Many of you will know more about this than I do- but John and Paul at Bracken used to prepare airheads for desert rallies back in the 80s.
IMHO, they started a Brit tradition for these bikes that lives on today with Richie Moore.

Check out this great documentary on the Paris-Dakar, John Watson Miller gets interviewed at approx 46mins:

any info/photos v.gratefully received

I must be all smoke and no fire then because I don't collect pictures of desert racing bikes. I guess we all need a hobby but that aint one of mine! I did have a little go on one of their bikes once though. 'The Pink Pig' I seem to remember it was called. A road race bike. Grunty bugger it was too. Only rode it round an industrial estate though to be fair.

did they do engine mods, like Richie Moore?

Or were they principally focused on suspension/frame work?

I honestly have no idea, sorry. It was about 20 years ago. I know the bike I had a go on was a long way from being a standard engine though.
