just about to buy garmin 2610. which bracket is most user friendly/easy to fit and won't obscure instruments. anyone know if the 2610 is compatible with starcom units.
ps. are any brackets theft proof?

does this bracket prevent theft?
if not is there anything that could be modified to make it difficult for would be thief??

The bracket itself is almost impossible to remove from the bike with the screen in place.

The 2610 is very difficult to remove from it's cradle without the special tool supplied with it.....

Nothing on a bike is totally theft proof, but I've had my Nav II permanetly fitted for over a year....no problems whatsoever......

Cheers

Another bracket for the 2610 on R1200GS

@all
Just bought a new type of bracket for the Garmin2610 on a R1200GS. It is made of steel and is mounted on the windscreen carrier frame. The original Garmin motorcycle bracket is screwed on it.
Within this bracket the 2610 can be easily fixed with a screw.

Advantages of the new bracket:
- position at the instrument cluster
- complete adjustment of the windscreen possible
- no metal parts disturbing the internal antenna like others
- no handling problems with the ignition key

Disadvantages:
- rev counter is not visible below ca. 3000 rpm

Price including Garmin part was about 49-52 Euro (on ebay - user micheme52). Pictures please see

If anybody is interested I can help with translating email requests to the manufacturer :
