Hi all,

I'm thinking of getting a new GSA soon, and have been thinking about all the bits that will need swapping over etc :augie

...I then randomly thought about braided hoses!!

...has anyone ever fitted them to a GS/GSA?...and if so, was it worth it?

With all the bits and bobs we tend to bolt on our GS's...I can't remember any mention of people putting on braided hoses...even a search didn't bring anything up.

Any info greatly appreciated :thumb2

They are fitted as stock I think???

That would explain nobody fitting them then :blast

.....must remember to be more observant in the future! :augie

Thanks all.....I'll get my coat...

You could always get them replaced with some 'premium' braided hoses, as I am sure BuMW skimp on the quality.

After all, they skimp on the seat, screen, paint, electrics, lights, final rear drive, fuel pump controller, EWS ring, 'anti-buffetting' etc. etc. etc.

Report back, please, there is a ready audience for fresh bling.....

Good point, well made....

...'premium' hoses was sort of what I was thinking...I will report back if I go down that route, with prices and results :thumb2

Bit like the difference between petrol and diesel! :augie

I pumped 32 litres in, never made a secret of it. :thumb2

Nor did I ask how to get it out, or whether it would damage my engine. :augie

Smokes like the Grand Fleet on manoeuvres, mind.

HEL will make you some, made-to-measure

So how do you get a Diesel nozzle into the small aperture of an unleaded tank?

Not a small aperture on a 1200GSA.

The pump in question was at a BP station in, I think, Noyon, France.

BP's corporate colour is green.

The trigger guard was very green.

The pump had a large green transfer saying Ron 95 or whatever.

The pump had a single pipe (exiting from the narrow side of the pump, not the face) but price screens etc. on both sides.

The hero of our story pull up at the pump, removed the gun from it's holster and pumped away. I was watching it going in thinking: "This petrol looks very brown and is foamy.... hey ho...."

BUGGER!

On the reverse side of the pump the transfer for 95 RON had been replaced by one reading GAZOIL..... had I pulled up there I guess I might not have used it. :D

In the end I got my money back from BP. It took a while and a letter to their UK MD but patience is a virtue and has it's just rewards....
