Hi,

(04 1150 gsa evo abs)

As a result of trying to fit bar risers at about 10pm last night, I've discovered that the brake hose from the front brake lever is too short! :censor:

I've done some research on here as well as some other websites and am a bit confused. Do I have to buy the complete replacement kit or can i just buy the link hose? Is there a 'longer' kit that a manufacturer makes or is it a case of specifying the length and getting someone to make it?

Can anyone send me a link to a supplier?

Also as I've got the evo abs version, is bleeding the brakes a complete b*tch? I'm a reasonably competent with the spanners but haven't need to do this before.

Thanks in advance.

Try Hel Mobile made mine up at the Beaulieu ride in last year but can do by post if you call with the details.

Standard hose runs infront of the fork leg. with risers fitted run the hose behind the leg and it sorts it out. there is a post somewhere about it.
You do not need to remove the line, just undo the top nut on the fork leg, lower the leg, reposition the line and then do up the top nut.

Hi,

I found steptoe's post wuih explains how to do it without bleeding brakes.

Quick question-the banjo nearest the brake lever would need to be rotated slightly and so I will need go loosen but not remove the retaining screw.

By doing this will I need to bleed the brakes?

I appreciate that this is a basis question but want to fully understand what I need to do before doing it.
