Brake Pad depth

Can anyone advise on the min depth you should change front a rear brake pads? ('07 GS on 6k miles)

I can't recall how thick the new ones are and mine are perhaps in between 2-3.5mm remaining on the pads.#

Mike,

if you wear them down until the central groove is gone you won't be far wrong.

You can run them more if you keep an eye on them, as long as you do not wear them down to the metal backing plate.

Option one is the best bet though.

2mm is a sensible time to change pads. Waiting for the grinding noise is not reccomended. We fit TRW Lucas pads, work well, stock both organic & sintered.
