hi all, I need to get hold of a set of rear brake pads ('04 gs), now Ive had a look about and it seems i can get a set of fleebay for £15, sinterd,

anybody got any good advice, which are anygood or which are shite, all advice appreciated!:D

Don't use carbonne lorraine. My 1150 is on original fronts at 36000 but the 3rd set on the rear with the replacements being carbonne lorraine, I dont ride the rear brake, just use it normaly and the disc is shot that will need replacing this time wether it be crappy disc or non compatability with pads I dunno, oh and the caliper is totally free.

1200's eat rear pads compared to fronts.
Brian.

The correct pads are essential. I suggest you Get them from either bmw (ouch) or motorworks or steptoe. (or for the sake of being fair, sherlocks or bins)

steptoe??? his he are local pad sella then?????, ow do i get in touch with him then????:augie

Bought a set of rear 1200 pads from Nippy, organic not sintered, as they don't work hard enough to warrant it and have better initial bite and feel anyway: No dramas.

worth using OEM pads if your bike is in warranty tax you'll then be in a good position for a claim on the discs when (if) something goes wrong.

Probably talking bollocks, I didnt notice this was in the 1200 section. On my 1150 theres at least 2 different calipers and various pads depending on wether its servo or not etc... Motorworks only list 3 different pads for the 1200 and it looks as if all 3 fit.
