Brake Pads?

I believe they are. I fitted these end of last year. The previous set lasted 30k, will be well pleased if I get that again.

is it just me or does the brembo wording look wrong, could these be lookie likey,?

I've done over 20K miles and have loads of pad left, its just that I think my pads are ruined after greasing up the bike through the winter and getting them oily. They have been cleaned up and everything by they "feel" vague, taking to bit longer to stop than normaol. So I think a new set of pads should fix that.

Buy Ferodo off Steptoe - GSSHOP.Biz - £56 for the complete set.

the ones in the second link look ok but the first ones look dodgy to me.

I'm just very nervous about wearing discs out quicker. I've had good wear from OEM pads both the pads themselves and the discs that I don't want to have to buy new discs sooner than I ought. So my logical thinking is to buy same pads.

myself if i need pads i get the gen bm ones, lets face it they dont wear out very quickly and with the gen bit i know exactly what im getting.granted they aint cheap though

My last bike got 3x the pad life with sintered rather than standard. So even though the discs would erode faster they were still less costly overall.

As BMW fit sintered pads as standard its unlikely that other options would be considerably better or worse on disc wear.

The first set listed for 04-12my and the 2nd set are for Watercooled Boxers

Yes I showed them because they were the only original pads I could find to show against the other Brembo pads. Which incidentally I've been told are made of SA compound which is slightly more aggressive than the OEM pads. I guess that means they stock quicker?

In a German motorcycle test the Ferodo came top, original pads were okay but Brembo were better.

That's why i sell them. I only supply what i would use on my own bike, not what has the most profit in them . :D

The Ferodo's Steptoe sells are the best I've used. I've just changed my last set after about 30,000 very tough miles and they still have around 25% life in them.

Well I guess everyones gonna be able to tell me what mileage they got out of whatever pads they're running... but jus wundrin like...out of interest, has anyone run BOTH gen-u-wine bee-em and Ferodo pads and if so what difference did ya notice on mileage?

I've been running Ferodo's as supplied by Steptoe for a few years and as I've already stated, I get at least 30k and I'm a very heavy front brake user. They did 3 trips to Northern Alaska and they performed faultlessly in much harsher road and weather conditions than you get over here. I only changed my last set because I'm just on another trip of around 6k and it would be a close call at the end of the trip. There is plenty of life left in them and I've taken them with me as an emergency spare set.

I've never noticed any drop of in stopping power through the life of the pads but I do clean up the calipers and pads every 6 months or so. The wear on the discs is OK too.

Overall, I think they are much better than the standard OEM ones which I found to wear very quickly although they stopped OK.

I can't fault the Ferodo's and wouldn't use anything else.:thumb2

I've used both the OEM and Ferodo's. I replaced the OEM's at 24K with more than 50% left - I replaced them as the performance wasn't as good as I thought it could be. The Ferodo Platinums I got from Steptoe now have 12K on them and probably a 1/3 used. Take from that what you will but I replaced them to get better braking performance which the Ferodo's do and I don't care much for mileage - as long as they can do 20K+ I'm happy. I still rate EBC double H sintered pads very highly on my other bike and despite warnings about the abrasion, my discs are holding up quite well - tempted to try those next time.
