Any recommendations regarding which make, and where is the best place for a set of brake pads for my 1150GS 2001 Brembo callipers.

Also HH or regular?

I like what's on it but cant identify what they were :)

Advise welcomed..

Give Motorworks a call and discuss it with them, I have found them to be very helpful.

My K1200GT has pads with what appears to be sintered bronze backing plates. Motorworks advise that they can only be obtained from BMW.

Yesterday I fitted a pair of Grimeca SS disks to my R80RT, but I used standard BMW Pads with them. Different kettle of fish to your bike though.

I'm sure you will get loads of advice, but as usual you won't know what is best for you until you try different types.

Best of luck.

Agree with Voyager.

Currently got different make of pads on different machines. Got BMW pads on the front of the 1150GS and can tell no difference from the Ferodo platinum pads that I had on before. Just fitted Ferodo platinum pads to the rear caliper of the GS and all round on my 850R. Happy with these.

Motorworks and Motobins both helpful and friendly. Mail order suits me and delivery is excellent. Price per pair of Ferodo pads - approx £18 front, £16 rear. BMW pads more expensive at approx £21 front, £18 rear. Main Dealer prices - ????

Cheers

not sure if available for 1150gs

but my preference on my 'K' series is EBC. never had a problem with them, good all weather pads.
Not keen on sintered pads, rather sacrifice pads than expensive discs.:)

I seem to recall reading somewhere that if you have Servo ABS you must use the correct BMW pads. Definitely ask advice of Motoworks or similar.

That's good to know DD. When I asked for costs on disks/pads from Motorrad Central in anticipation of the bad day when they were needed I damned near had a heart attack:eek: All of my disk/pad replacements to date, with the single exception of rear pads, were done under warranty due to pitting or high spotting of the front discs.

Is there any sign that the Mr Frodo items are wearing the discs faster than the standard prods?
