brass screw adjuster rear mudguard 1100

I've searched to no avail - but i'm sure i've read s'thing about it s'where.

what does the brass screw adjuster thingy do that sits top RHS off the rear mudguard ?

should i be twiddling or screwing in the vain attempt of getting 50hp per 1/4 turn ?

Thats the CO Pot - this adjusts the mixture - lean or rich. Don't twiddle with it. (This is present on bikes without the lambda probe)
