Hi there
Not sure if any members of this forum are aware of the North of England Breast Way Round ride on Bank Holiday weekend May 27-28.
Breast Way Round, is a charity motorbike run for Macmillan
Cancer Support which has been running in Scotland for the past three years while at the same time aiming to raise the profile of women bikers:
www.breastwayround.com
This is the first BWR to take place in England and we need more women to take part to make this the success it deserves to be.
We are aiming for 100 riders to participate, 80 of which should be women.
All particpants pay their own costs and raise extra money for the charity through sponsorship and collections along the way,
Ali, the organiser has planned the four day route and stop points are organised, along with hotel discounts and free campsites, plus evening hot buffets in Whitby and Carlisle.
There is a £12 registration fee to cover insurance and postage costs.
A minimum sponsorship of £100 per entrant has been decided, as it is the Centenery Anniversary for Macmillan in 2011.
The only other thing, and very important, is we need you!
Although it's mainly a female event (to help raise the profile of female bikers in the UK), we still need approx twenty men, who take it in turn to do back-marker duties.
The fellas wear their own design of decorated green bra (for Macmillan) outside their bike gear.
We can cater for one hundred bikes (ten groups of ten).
Open to riders of all abilities.
It's a great event and a great experience.
If you would like to be part of it please email Ali at: [email protected]
