Can any of you give me advice on the Brechfa region ?

I am planning a ride soon with some of our SW section and wish to explore the Brechfa region preferably with some GS friendly offroads to explore.

In all of my rides to Wales I seem to end up in Llandovery then end up heading Norh East and I have completely missed the Brechfa region and it looks very interesting on an OS map.

For example,
What can anyone tell me about this track?

Or this forest track?

This one is impossible on a GS according to Trailwise

This looks worthy of an exploration?

I am grateful for any guidance :D

Try VDSR.co.uk

Local trail riders - good bunch of guys. Im sure they can help as they ride up that area from time to time.

I actually live very close th Brechfa forest and previously lived righ on the edge of the forest. Be warned as far I am aware there are NO legal motorcycle tracks through the forest. Whilst areas are used for the odd enduro event, these are run under special dispensation. It is not unusual for Dyfed-powys police to use bikes, cars and the helicopter to catch bikers using the tracks within the forest. Push biking and horse riding is encouraged, we are specifically and vigorously excluded.

There are however a multitude on lanes and byeways that dissect the area and should keep you happy all day. There is also an off road section that runs from Abergorech out through Tipep Valley...but that's not strictly in the forest.:rob

First is will lead to onto the cycle tracks section and is a definite no go.

Second will alsomost certainly bring out the boys in blue

Third is fine, but very dubious on a GS

Forth is tarmac all the way but a great little ride, on of the roads I refer to in my previous post.:beerjug:

Thanks Dennis. Cant think why I havent eplored this region before, but I will most definitely try and keep legal :thumb

Of course depending on when your comuing over, I'd be very happy to show you round the area..could even use my place as a start point:thumb

Thanks Dennis. May take you up on that sometime. I have been on a ride with you before:
