Friends and I are looking at visiting the Brecon Beacons National Park, 1st week of May on our bikes. Can anybody out there give me any info on good B & B, sights to see and roads to ride?

Much appreciated.

Felin Fach the Griffin Inn is very nice, good food, four poster beds and in the middle of no where. All this is according to the hung over Brecon lady next to me in bed !!!

Any pub in Brecon is very busy on a weekend with everybody having a good time £1.75 JD and Coke, try the club in the Wellington’s for late night dancing.

The South Wales Boarders Regimental (Zulu fame)Museum is one of the best there is. Visit Brecon Cathedral for the Regimental Chapel.

Roberto’s Italian restaurant on St Mary’s Street is top for grub.

The car park in Abergavenny bus station is a meeting point for bikes on Sunday morning.

The A470 to Merythyr is very good

However watch out for the Brecon Ladies as they will lead you astray!!!

Graig-y-Nos Castle.

Does anybody have any thoughts on Graig-y-Nos Castle. Thinking of staying their if we can get a room.

Mid Wales has equally good (some say better) roads than the Brecon Beacons. One of the notable routes in the Beacons is the Forest Ffawr mountain road (A4069) from Brynamman to Llangadog.

A couple of miles further on from Llangadog is the remarkable Grade II listed 'B&B' known as Cym Rhuddan. I stayed there last year for about £25 per night. Take a look at the pics on this link (especially the interior shots): http://www.profilehomes.com/0328_mansions-for-sale-in-wales_ForSale.htm . Contact details are on this link: http://www.profilehomes.com/Accommodation.htm
