Having spent a little time trying to find a caliper upgrade with no success I decide on a replacement Brembo floater and new pads - voila! A front brake that works when I pull the lever, as opposed to the soggy original.
Writing up this note takes longer than the replacement - heated the Fillister heads before removal to soften the loctite, then switch over the disc - job done - result!
