In my experience, the TKC70 are brilliant for a couple of thousand kms until they start wearing unevenly (scalloping) then they start to feel horrible. This may not happen if you don't ride hard on the road.
If you're a "bimbler" I would say that the TKC would be ideal for the big GS.
I'll have a look at the roadtec, but I think I might give the Avon's a go after some searches on this site. If I don't like them I'll try something different next time.

3rd set of A40's fitted today. Lasting a lot longer than the previous Metzelers.
Good firm sidewall which suits the tall GSA.
As for them sliding in the wet, in all the miles the last 2 sets covered I can only recall the rear skipping slightly once, a couple of miles before reaching the venue of the Irish Connemara gathering earlier this month. Nothing much, but surprised as it was the only time they skipped. (And the tyres had over 6K miles on them )
That evening I overheard a couple of other riders talking about a big slide just before reaching the hotel. So I put it down to the road surface, not the tyres.
