I've just seen on another thread that Bridgestone are making an 020 fitment for GS's. I've looked at the Bridgestone website which has a fitment guide, and BT020's do indeed come up as a suggested fitment (along with Trailwings, which I've tried an didn't particulary like, especially on wet roads).

I've had 020's on previous bikes and have always rated them. I'm currently running Tourances (like most GSers, I think) but would be interested in putting "pure" road tyres on as I never intend to go off road on my GS - I'm a Southern Softy, after all.

Does anyone have any views on this, please, or has anyone run a GS on other road tyres (i.e. not Tourances, Trailwings, Anakees, etc.)? How does it affect the handling and grip?

Thanks,

Robin.

If you're only ever gonna ride on the road, then they're bound to be a good move, probably being "stickier" than the usual GS rubber. The downside will be that they won't last as long as the others.

I've orderd a set of Bridgstones & will have them fitted ready for our French trip on the 21st so I'll post my thoughts when we get back.

I've got BT020's fitted to my GS, albeit on 3 spoke alloy wheels. Awesome in wet or dry conditions once warmed up. I would try them, without hesitation, on std wheels
