I have a very early Rider 1. Thought I had been very clever by switching to a new locking mount (dont recall which) before the pins "drilled" but it has now got me as well. Even with the new mount they have worn in the end.
Too old to go back to Tom Tom. But before I buy a new unit (Garmin this time) is there not a better solution? If the power went in through the "car" jack plug it would be fine. But you cant get at that when it is in the mount. I have read some pretty amazing engineering solutions to various problems on this site, I was hoping someone would come up with something for this one. Remove the back and pass a wire through the unit? Might not be as waterproof but the TT does the job and £500 for a new one because a couple of pins fail seems a bit excessive? Or should I just forget it and pay up?
