Does anyone know anything about this event (apart from the bleedin' obvious), is it worth attending, start finish times etc. Can't seem to find any relevant detail, seemingly because most sprint events are 'not open to the public'. Bit difficult on Brighton sea front !

Anyone contemplating attending ?

Nil point's !

That would be a collective NO then !

Sorry, I missed your earlier posting.

The Brighton Speed Trials are the oldest motorsport event in the UK and are run along Madeira Drive each year.

The are organised by the Brighton & Hove Motor Club and include various classes for cars and bikes.

On behalf of the Motor Sports Association, the governing body of 4-wheeled motorsport in the UK, it was my pleasure to be 'Headmaster' (the chief Steward) at this event a couple of years ago.

If you want to have a go, I should make quick contact with the club - you will need to be fully kitted and have a competition licence which you can get from the ACU, the 2-wheel governing body. However, don't just turn up unless you want to spectate.

And if you do want to spectate, get there early as the best vantage points will fill up

Thank you

Thanks for that Greg/Iain, I never thought of entering, just fancy a spectate ! people my shape aren't generally associated with sprinting !

You could make a weekend of it - it's the Ace cafe run on Sunday.

An interesting cross section of the biking community will be there  , always good for people and machinery watching.
