Brittany Ferries Economic

Question for W900BMW

Due out on that boat in September

What is your review of the Etretat please ?

Absolutely fine, subject to my previous comment on the open deck, and the fact I haven't made my return crossing yet.

Two airy lounges,a tidy bar area, cafeteria, tiny cinema and shop which is more of a kiosk, and that's your lot! Didn't appear crowded even on a BH weekend crossing, albeit they must have been full enough to use the top car deck (5).

Clean and smart interior and nothing to suggest economy, just very small. Actually used the Lounge seat for once, which is more than I would do in the dingy little room on the the Pont Aven.

No showers, if you haven't got a cabin, but one guy I was talking to, spoke to a stewardess nicely, and managed to blag one in an unused cabin.

Simple in my mind really....... accompanied with SWMBO, then Commodore class on Pont Aven!.........Solo trip keeping my money to spend in Morocco the Etreat.

Hope this helps a bit.

used LD Poole - Santander at the weekend ........ boat arrived few hours late into Poole on Sat pm .... now im not sure if it was stormy or gales but we had a horrendous nite onboard (cars had to be chain on deck...though the bikes were all uprite) eventually arrived Santander MONDAY 7AM !! free food provided though basic and nothing on board to do . id recommend it as a 1 way ticket then ride home via chunnel or similar

Made the return crossing on the Etretat yesterday.........just as good as before, but this time bikes on deck 3. Brittany Ferries obviously have quickly seen the error of their ways!

My one and only experience with LD Lines (portsmouth to le havre) was awful & resulted in several complaints, not just from me, from other car customers too.
They made us ride to the top open deck, park in a tiny corner which still had wet paint = blue paint on leather boots and tyres.
Our bikes were covered in a layer of salt the next morning & it was a very scary ride down the wet ramp.
The attitude of the staff was disgraceful - almost stereotypical - they simply shrugged their shoulders & pretended no one understood. The woman at the information desk didn't want to listen, she just handed out complaint forms. Their compensation offer was a half-price ticket on our next trip - as if that's going to happen!

UK> Santander...March 2015- Does anyone have any ideas or promotions for a bike+1 on a cheap as chips deal please!
DFDS not offering anything
