Brittany Ferry

Food - thought it was excellent, in fact, Brittany do a good job all round and I couldn't fault it.

On the way over, ate in the restaurant at night - 1 tip, book a table if you are doing that as soon as you get your tw@t suit off, you'd be amazed how quick it fills up at night. :thumb

They quite often do whale watching presentations on board in the afternoons with Powerpoint slides and tutorials etc.

All in all, brilliant, have a good time, you'll enjoy it. :thumb2

Thanks for that, will peruse the various menus and see what we fancy. IS it possible to book only when on board or can you do it ahead?
Cheers

Hi Popell, I'm not sure mate, never explored that avenue, I just remember thinking "how come all these people are queuing up in the restaurant and its only mid afternoon"? -- Then it all became clear :)

yes the whale watching thing is certainly worth a look, mind you they did show a slide of some rough weather with a wave breaking over the top of the bridge:eek: and the captain said it was taken before they had even left the harbour!

Sounds like the same presentation I saw on the Portsmouth-Bilbao P&O ferry a few years ago.

The kiwi is not bullshitting about the binoculars. We did see whales last year but too far off to get a decent photo.

We also saw an impressive school of dolphins herding a shoal of fish - quite a sight. Photo below does not do it justice. It went on for about 20mins and the water was boiling with activity at times.

You should've taken the photo at one of those times. :D

I would have liked to see a whale, spent ages on the top deck getting horrendously sunburnt, but all I saw was sea.

whale

Thanks for all the replies, the kids will be on the lookout.

Perhaps a competition for the clearest photo of either whale or dolphin - there seems to be enough tossers trying that route?

I took these pictures from the deck of this ferry in 08. The thing that looks like a stick is the back of a Fin Whale (the worlds second largest). The food was great as well.
