So after more than 30 years on bikes I forgot to remove my disc lock yesterday . The lower bolt sheared off but has left a stub in the fork leg. Can anyone recommend someone to extract it in Dublin ? I'm completely kack handed and have no ability to do this.
Would you consider a "car mechanic" to do this ? I'll order the new bolt from BMW here tomorrow.

Hi Luke
Having made a similar (but not identical) mistake, I went to a mechanical engineering firm who were prepared to "have a go" at replacing in situ, with me accepting liability. I had the bike trailered round to them.
They did a great job.
We have all seen results on Utube, but having the conversation with the man doing the job gave me confidence to go ahead.
Good luck.

Any vehicle mechanic worth his salt should be capable of removing a broken bolt.

@luke scott Is there enough of a stub protruding to get

a) A nick cut with a grinder and then a screw driver in to unscrew?

b) To be able to grip with Decent vise grips and unscrew?

it "Shouldn't" be very tight, as it is the bolt torque that keeps it tightened up
Thanks guys. I'll take pictures later and talk to two local car garages tomorrow.
