I broke the front brake lever last night.

Anyone else rplaced one of these before?

It has broken at the point it goes into the main brake resevour body. So the actual lever itself isn't broken, its the bit that goes into the body.

Do I have to replace the whole body?

If you had made your statement coherent, there might be more help forthcoming.

bandit - might be easier to indicate the item number from

As you can see from the previous posts I woke up in a real bad mood this morning.

A cautionary tale for anyone who goes trail riding on their own, there is no way I could have picked the bike up on my own.

thanks for your help

Picking the bike up is just a question of technique . It is a whole lot easier than you might imagine. I concede that if it's upside down in a ditch it's not likely to get upright easily but a simple fall on a relatively flat surface is very easy.....if you know how.

Note the positioning of these two examples of bikes being lifted single handedly.

Which part of broken front brake lever didn't you understand?

If you`ve broken a brake lever and know you`ve broken it,why are you asking what do do ....... FFS. :tosser

And as for us not understanding what you posted,I suggest you read your first post again, and YOU TRY TO MAKE SENSE OF IT.....

You should know by now that we are all willing to help each other where possible, and had you started off with saying that you were away from home with a problem, and worded it COHESIVELY,
we would have offered advice/assistance.

As it was,it got the response it deserved.

Go to bed early tonight, and don`t take it out on us if you get a twat on in the morning.......

In both cases the bike must be in gear and lifted through the knees [NOT your back !!] using the handle bar to lift the bike. They come up quite well using this technique. Feet position is shoulder space apart as close to the bike as possible while you squat down and grab the handle bar with both hands.

As you stand up the bike comes up with you - it works but DON'T USE YOUR BACK !!!!!!
