Doing a quick "ding ding ding" test last November I found a couple of broken spokes in my rear wheel.
They had snapped within the nipple so couldn't be seen.

Fun and games replacing them :blast (see 1200 section)

Did another check yesterday and found two more :( Both snapped within the nipple again.

Anyone else have a disintegrating rear wheel :D

Paul
I had a couple go on me pushbike - replaced um to find a few weeks later that a couple more had gone - did them then again 2 week later more bust
Took it down to local bike shop to see the wheelwright there - Peter said
" It isnt a just replace and forget when one goes " Huh, says I what yer on about Then he went on to say if one pings the ones either side and some opposite take the strain and stretch - by just replacing and forgetting you may have put more strain on other spokes then they go tits up straining others etc.
He said replace and then check it all out for correct tension - I took the wheel down to his shop for him to show me and prove it wernt all bollocks but had to leave it with him as he was invovled with another job !0 quid and 6 months since his words seem to be true
HTHY with the next respoke :thumb2

You're probably right Mick. I'm expecting more to pop.

6 hours to replace the two spokes today.:clap

This is twice the speed it took me to replace the first two broken spokes

Only downer, was that another spoke broke sometime during the hammering process. :(

But that only took me 2 hours to knock out :clap:bounce1:bounce1:bounce1

Anyone any spare wheels for sale? :augie

Rear hub is the same, but rim isn't as wide on the HP.

I have it on good authority that the HP can run with the standard rear GS wheel.

well i will be rebuilding a rear gs wheel.

if get ti setup right then may be for sale. but have nto had time do it yet
