OS 9 has also introduced a new feature called Wi-Fi Assist. Wi-Fi Assist leverages your mobile data connection if it detects a poor or wavering Wi-Fi signal. The end result is that you may think you are downloading data via Wi-Fi but may actually be using your mobile data tariff.
If you have a mobile connection , don't have unlimited data usage and and use an iPhone/iPad i suggest you disable this feature as soon as possible as follows:
Settings > Mobile Data > scroll right to the bottom of the page, past all your installed apps, grinder, porn etc > disable Wi-Fi Assist
