Sorry to hear that Mzokk - still, anybody with a titter of wit would have checked the weather forecast before they set out, heavy rain had been advertised by both UK Met Office and Met Eireann since last Monday :D :D

We called it off in the pub on Saturday nite - bravado overcome by drink. Agree it's a bummer though :(

Aye I knew that the weather was to be wet and was well prepared for it and thats WHY I went down. I wanted to see the "best riders in the uk" riding in wet conditions as I'd watched them for the past three in perfect sunshine. Oh well! :)

Got there at About 9:30 Sat in a field with me brolly up for 4hrs then told cancelled due to rain an no refunds so £24 quid for the privilege.

F*ck me, that's a bit of a liberty, ain't it?

Suppose Mondello is out the costs, whether the show goes on or not. It was the BSB lot that Cancelled the meet.........no doubt they'd been paid to turn up.....up front!!

Sugarcube, myself and our good ladies stayed with Jockser and family last night in Co Kildare for a big BBQ and nights drinking. Thanks Jockser :thumb

I knew from all the forecasts that it was likely to rain heavily so didn't purchase advance tickets. So this morning at about 11am as Jockser, Sugarcube and two of Jocksers sons were heading for Mondello, Mandy and I headed up home. It was possibly the most tedious journey I have made on a bike in manys a long day what with the weather and feckin traffic.

Jockser is just off the phone, they all got drenched at the circuit and as the two wee lads were getting cold they were thinking of calling it a day when the meet was cancelled.

Like Mzokk, I really feel for anyone who made the effort to be there especially lads from across the water. :(

Well guys, what a washout. I have NEVER (even on the ill-fated Donegal day - that was like a spring shower :D ) ridden through rain like that. Some of the car drivers are so inconsiderate too :spitfire - mostly northerners i'm sorry to say - I was along with my son(pillion) and a mate on his zx6r and one guy in a red bora sat about 2 feet from his back tyre. We have a mate who runs a team in the 600 class so at least we weren't out the money for the tickets :thumb . We went down on the Saturday and had a few  . We didn't have to use the tent as we slept in the awning of his camper so at least we were dry overnight ;) . Spoke to the guy who was selling sunglasses  . He paid £1000 to get his stall in and didn't sell one pair, so I guess £24 wasn't too bad :D . The only pictures I got were of the RS4 safety cars sitting in pit lane after the race was cancelled - too wet to bring the camera out. Will post a picture later

BTW if i passed any of those who went on the way up and didn't stop I'm sorry, I was in a "I'm soaked,I want to get home out of this feckin rain" mode :D

What a pisser - & I only had about 15 miles to travel ;) We were there for the qualifying on Sat & the weather was grand but the place was deserted :( Not even any good stalls !

After grub & a  or 3 on Saturday night it was getting bright by the time we persuaded Aidan to go to bed ;) . When we got up a couple of hours later it was chucking it down so we delayed our departure to coincide with the first race. Aidan & Mandy headed home while Errol, myself & my 2 oldest lads went to Mondello.

Once we got there we met Trev, his sister & Dad :thumb and discovered that there hadn't even been any warm-ups. It wasn't long afterwards that the decision was made to cancel the meeting so we rode home again, getting nice & wet in the process :( :(

i thought what a bummer for all those that had travelled so far and seen sweet f.a.
i've seen much worse weather and racing went on.
then over lunch i was watching some vids online - various daft stuff, cute animals "jackass" type stunts and silly crashes etc.
then i saw this one.
it seems appropriate to post the link. its car on a track - not bikes but... imagine this in Mondello
probably right to cancel after all.
