I know that this old tyre chestnut has done the rounds and I have done the searches BUT

to those in the know - which tyres would you pick especially as
:-
A. I've only had the GS 1 week and the rear TKC 80 knobblies needs changing. (not all my own work 2nd hand bike)

B. in june I'm heading off to switzerland and the too and from trip is all Motorway ( Bt020 should cope with this better due to differing compounds ???)

C my fun riding in uk and the swiss trip is a and b roads and the swiss mountain twisties.

D not been off road on the GS may venture up the odd gravel road maybe?

what are the wear rates of my type of use

your experience is wanted

Hamish, go for the Tourance, they are very good on the :GS last a lot longer than the BT020, give Steve a ring in Sandbach 01270 760795, £160 a pair ride in ride out, top bloke :thumb

And what happened to you the last meet at the Broughton :D

I've just worn out a rear 020 in 3200miles on my 1150, all done on Scottish A & B roads.

Even though it hasn't been near motorways, or any long distances on dual-carriageways, it still squared off quite noticeably. The front should see out another rear no problem.

Not bad going, my girlfriend can't get any more than 2500 out of hers!!! ;)

Les thanks for the number in sandbach.
who ahd where can this rubber merchant be found.

last Broughton Arms meet was Superseded last minute by poorly wife.
all ok now though. when is the next meet?

so the tourance shouldn't square off on my swiss trip then.

the existing "80's" are fun in the dry but very square you can feel when they tip over to the next block line !!
my neighbour on his Blade doesn't think they slow me up much !!
but I think he is being kind.

Thank you all for your input.
I was edging towards the BT020's
but have ordered the tourance set from SSB as they are letting me off a few quid as the bike had a well worn rear when purchased.
this means that the dealer is the best price fitted and they are willig to put the BT020's i ordered on the shelf.
so hurry up there whist stocks last
Thanks
for the Numbers Les
next time the rear can't last THAT long.............
