Right chaps, a helping hand if you would. I've just run into the back of a car at a junction (long story, don't ask) and although it was a slow collision - maybe 15 - 20mph tops - i'm wondering if there's anything specific to R1150's (GS) that I should be looking for. The fact that I dropped the thing as well 9looking like an absolute gland in the process) shouldn't have had too much of an effect, and all that happened there was a little scratching on my crash bars. It was the wheel that bore most of the brunt of it, although the beak is a little scraped, and I'm just wondering if this bike is prone to any complications from a soft frontal...

Thoughts?

Check front wheel runs true (put on centre stand, spin and watch to see any lateral movements or shaking). Check the forks are straight. I hit a car at 25mph and shot my forks, bent the shanchions. you could see it when looked at side on, wheel appeared ok but i got it rebalanced and checked over at a tyre dealers.

Have a close look at the telelever- run your fingers along it and make sure there are no ripples or cracks in the paint that may indicate it's bent.....look down the forks and make sure they look straight, put the handlebars dead central and make sure the forks are aligned (a bamboo or rod held against them should show this pretty well if it's parallel with the bars)

Check bars at full lock in both directions and that there's nothing fowling the tank or anywhere else down the length of the forks (bars can move in the clamps in a crunch) and check the handguards are clear of the brake and clutch levers still.

Other than that , nope :D
