Bullet Camera

I don't have one But excellent link thank you I will be adding one of these to my wish list ;)

I used a Bullit camera in India in 2006 it was as big as your thumb (well mine anyway) it was one of those spy camera things which needed to be connected to a power source and to a Camcorder which required AAA batteries and cables (loads of cables) whilst it worked real good I had to cary my camcorder in a bum bag along with batteries (8 AAA) to start and stop recording I had to stop the bke, open bumbag and remove camcorder them switch off or on real pain.

This one seems to have all the answers. :bounce1

I have the RF concepts camera and the cables are a faff, ie camera lead, lanc lead, microphone lead, power for the camcorder lead so that option looks to tick a lot of boxes :)

I think I read that it can use 32gb SD cards, but how much does 1 hours recording use? With my set up on a Sony DCR-HC42E it uses about 10gb per hour when downloading to the pc :(

BTW if they offer a remote on /off / record, like the lanc, it will be very usefull ;)

Dogcam

My mate has a wired version from this company, film quality is excellent recording with a camcorder and the various mounts it came with give a good amount of options for placing the cam. The video quality will be affected by the specs of the recorder (resolution etc).

for me the resolution is a problem on the dog cam

most the small cameras have a resolution of 640x480 it's below DVD quality but are easy to use.

the samsung VP220L is better with a resolution of 720x576 SD (standard definition and so broad cast quality)

however it comes down to cost dog cam etc. around £100 samsung £450 and the really nice stuff starts at 2K

but it's full fat HD 1920x1080i and oh yeah 2K with a lots of money to throw into the med as we did a while ago...:blast

there's a place for all the kit and kit for all budgets and in good lighting conditions the little cameras are good but suffer badly in standard British light.

IMHO

I have a dog cam and an RF camera fitted, one facing forward, one backwards. They are switched by a toggle mounted by the left grip. I have a digtal video camera in a small tank bag.
The quality is passable but certainly not HD. Good enough to share with mates or put up on Youtube.

FWIW I have a dog-cam, and have used it with both a Sony handycam and also an Archos PVR.

If you accept that act that very few cameras of this ilk will ever give you super-high quality, the results you'll get will be more than acecptable, and quite presentable on any but the largest TVs.

Admittedly the cabling can be a right pain in the @rse, but I managed to pack all of mine quite tidily in a small tank-bag.

I've been looking at getting something for a while and found this, it records in HD, has instant upload capability via cute little flip out usb, takes standard AA batteries,SD cards up to 32gig has a tripod mount screw so easy to rig bike mounts., basic and easy to operate and is nice and small - all for around the £100 mark. I've just ordered one so will have some footage in the next week or so.

My good pal mark had a bullet camera when we went to Libya in November. Quality was god and he mounted his on his hand using duct tape so that he could "aim" it at whatever he wanted rather than having it fixed which means that it only picks up what's in front of it.
