Saw a kiwi fitting some of those, they do look quality

My only question is how practical is the way the lids open ?

Don't know if it would be awkward using inner bags, especially with a big top box

I like to be able to take the lids off completely

Best system I have bought and I have had BMW, Touratech.

Originally I had the same thoughts as you but when I had them on the bike their system made sense

I had the Bumot Xtremada soft panniers on my 1250 and sold them when I realised that the 1300 had even sided pannier racks, at least from Touratech.

I should have kept them cause Lone Rider now do a set of racks which basically mimic the exact fitment of the 1250 racks 🤦‍♂️

Agree - Bumot is great kit and the best I've tried. The top lids open outwards which initially seems odd but is actually very useful as it gives you an extra platform, increasing the working surface area to put things on if you're rummaging in the box. No central locking though if that's important.
