Guys,

I've not tried to do a proper burnout on the GS, or some doughnuts (Warning: these attract police as they can smell Doughnuts from miles away! ;) )

I thought it would be impossible due to the linked brakes...?

Has anyone tried?

:beerjug:

It would depend on how the brakes are linked. If the foot brake is the only one that opperates the linked system then using the front brake on the handlebar will allow you to lock the front wheel to get the back one spinning, ease the front brake of slowly to get a nice rolling burn out.

turn the ABS off first though.

They usually work the other way round. Front brake lever operates both, rear lever ONLY operates the rear.

Not familair with the 1200GS but Guzzi rear pedal operates rear & one front caliper. Front brake only operates the remaining front caliper.

Not sure about various Honda's though.

Often wondered this myself?

I'd guess, using the brakes on a GS12, no.

Soooooo........you are either gonna have to use a wall or chock under the front wheel, or, how about carry a bottle of slippery stuff [1] with you and give a squirt under the back wheel when required - once the tyre is up and spinning you could do a very classy looking rolling burn out ;)
