I think the bugger knew I hated it cos it's just stopped working and the dealer tells me there's been a few (known fault) and it could be a while to get a replacement. Maybe there'll be a recall and we'll go back to the lovely paddles!

Yep, been there done that one. It's a known problem. They will replace both switches with a slightly different design so it doesn't happen again.
