Any advice on which one to get? I'm tall enough for both and mainly for road use.
Does the longer suspension travel make the R handle better or worse on the road?
Does the ABS make the standard bike worth having if you're gonna use it in the wet?
This may have been covered as a thread but...:nenau
Any advice/opinion welcomed.

+10hp on the 'R'.......sold! ;)

You can get the R map on a standard one :thumb
The R does look better, but I do like abs as an option
Used mine on my smt last week when some plank pulled out in front of me :blast
Mind you adv brakes don't feel powerful enough to lock up :augie

The brakes are fine, just squeeze harder :blast

I see the lack of ABS as a + point, less weight, less to go wrong in the future, no traction control to mess things up, mine rode straight out a hole in the sand that a 1200 GSA needed to be dug out of :D

Only downside is the fuel range, but thats the same for both I suppose

AMS

Was down at AMS in Tewksbury yesterday.
They had a blue KTM Adventure for £8250. Last one.

Think that's a lot of bike for the money.

But I would sell mine for 2k less with nearly £3,000 of extra's on it! Plus it's very low milage (5,900) and very mint.

Not quite the same as the photo.
Bash plate, frame protectors and spots have been replaced.

Hi Nick. That's a great offer but I've put a deposit on the exact bike you saw! Lol.
Cheers anyway.

Well done

What a coincidence, it's a lot of bike for the money, was quite tempted myself, but got sidetracked by an exotic air pistol. Available in Birmingham.

Left AMS empty handed.
Then started thinking about it when I got to Birminghan and didn't buy the pistol. ;)

Oh well. You'd only have shot yourself for not buying the bike. I've never ridden one so will give you first refusal.
Btw do you have any kit for sale? I'm after some decent cheapish trousers. :thumb

I've got a touring screen and a pair of Akro's for it if you're interested :D

Don't think you need a test ride, if you like the look, your half way there.
The KTM 990 adventure is a very good bike.
Had about five. It's not the best at touring, but it is fun to ride.

Clothing.

Depends on your size.
Got leather trousers.
Textile trousers.
and about 8 jackets. :blast
