Hi, I own a GSA but looking at another bike.
I was recently at a dealer who had a bike fore sale at a considerable discount, about 20%. I'd rather not say which dealer or which bike except to say it quite an expensive one.
The issue is, although it's brand new, 5 miles on the clock, it's a bike manufactured in 2022 bought by the dealer back then but unregistered.
The dealer tells me it'll come on a 2026 plate and have a 3 year warranty.

I have two questions.
A, Why would this happen?
B, Am I right in thinking there could be issues with rubber seals, gromets etc, and also if it's not been started up for 4 years, any other problems?

Half of me is saying don't touch it but the other half is saying, well. with a 3 year warranty, what the problem, and it's a bike I want at a good discount?

Thoughts please.

A) it’s a 22 Model year or 22MY but hasn’t been registered, bought from BMW but not by a customer (yet) so it will get a 26 plate, or a 76 if it sells after September
B) not sure enough to comment because…

with a 3 year warranty, what the problem, and it's a bike I want at a good discount?

I’d be biting a hands off!! you want it and the price is good, 36 month warranty is your sensible backstop.

I’d feel reasonably confident too. You may have stumbled upon a genuine bargain.
