Just having a look on DONE DEAL the Irish Gumtree (by the looks of it)
Loads of GSA 1200`s available for sale and appear to be in good condition.
Has anyone bought from over the sea and are they more expensive.
Euro prices look to be expensive to me but maybe I`m being a tight Scot !!
Can they be exported to the UK or are there tax implications ?

There's no issues importing to the UK from Ireland. I've sold at least two bikes to members on this site and they had no issues. Donedeal is a good place to buy from. If the I keep is in Dublin I'll look at it for you .

Get a Vehicle Import Pack from DVLA for all relevent paperwork.

The procedure will differ if a machine was previously registered here or not.
The original index may still be available for reissue.
Or an age related one will be given.

Anyway, the DVLA site will give current info and the pack will provide the paperwork.

Speaking as someone who grew up in Dublin, I wouldn't bother. From my personal experience buying and selling nearly 30 bikes UK bikes are in far far better condition with very few exceptions.

Do Irish bikes have MPH & KPH clocks or just KPH?

There can be ropey sh** on dung deal and as we don't have an MOT system and unless there is documented service history or the bike or owner is personally known ( which can happen as we are a small fraternity in a small parish) I wouldn't bother. If there is something you fancy over here post on the Irish forum before you do anything and if there is anything either Dublin Kildare midlands etc that you like I would be more than happy to check it out for you
Cheers

Some of the stuff on Donedeal is actually based in Northern Ireland, that is the free 6 counties :D so you would have no problem bringing the bike back to Scotland or any part of the UK.

If there is something and if it is in Antrim or Down i would be happy to go and have a look at it for you. What nice people inhabit this island:thumb2

Slight tangent:- I bought a 2007 1200GS in UK. It has a MPH clock that I'll happily swop for a KPH one; if one of ye out there wish to "swim the other way".
