Anyone recommend someone to buy & fit TKC80's from close to the ferry ports before crossing to Morocco. I want to ride down on road tires, then have the TKC's fitted. On the way back have them swap me back onto road tires. I live in SW France but its still a fair way down too the tip of Spain. Bike is a 1200 GSA.

If you click on my ride report in my signature I give the details of a bike shop I used to change my tyres on that trip - might be a help to you.

TKC's are good for about 6000 mile. Should be enough to get there and back for a shortish trip.

How long you going for?

Hoping for 2-3 weeks in Morroco on this trip. Don't want to shag them to death on the Tarmac two and from home. Ideally would leave them with the dealer on the way back ready for the next trip.

If you ping me an email on kboydnfpa at laposte dot net I can organize a ride out to meet you for a coffee and a chat if you want?

:D

Reporter, just buy a set of Heidenau K60 Scouts, and ride these tires all the way. Did it in 2011, coming from Belgium, through central France, going to Barcelona. Did 3500km in Morocco, and back from Barcelona to Belgium.

Tyres were not even halfway ;)

Was the only one of my group on Heidenau, all the others used TKC. Some folk needed to change tyres halfway the trip, and others couldn't keep up chasing through the Atlas. They said their tyres were sliding due to the high temperatures, Heidenau didn't move an inch :D

Grtz, Philip!

If you get in touch with Hanna at Motoadventours she'll fix you up.
They have a place near Marbella, so handy for the ferries.
